VILLAZAN is thrilled to announce the launch of "Art Notes I" & "Art Notes II", the inaugural collaboration between our gallery, the acclaimed Spanish artist Edgar Plans, and Dropshop by Phillips.

Printed in partnership with Marginal Editions in New York, this limited‑edition drop presents two visually arresting screenprints, each boasting over 30 colors and extensive hand‑coloring by Edgar himself. Whether displayed side by side as a vibrant diptych or as striking standalone works, these pieces embody the playful yet introspective spirit that defines Plans’s practice.

About Edgar Plans
Born in Madrid in 1977 and now based in Gijón, Edgar Plans studied Art History at the University of Oviedo before carving out a unique niche in contemporary art. His signature “Animal Heroes” are instantly recognizable: wide‑eyed figures set against dreamlike backdrops filled with symbols and cultural references. Plans’s work explores vulnerability, resilience, and the power of storytelling, drawing on literature, personal memory, and street culture to create compositions that feel both intimate and universal.

Major solo exhibitions curated by Pablo Villazán have taken his work to institutions such as the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, S2A Museum in Seoul, and ARCO Madrid. He’s also made his mark on the global stage through collaborations with brands like Paris Saint‑Germain and the NBA, for which he created a traveling sculpture exhibition celebrating the league’s seventy‑fifth anniversary across Asia.

Our Collaboration
This project marks a meeting of creative forces: VILLAZAN’s commitment to fostering international artistic dialogue; Edgar Plans’s visionary imagery; Dropshop by Phillips’s dedication to contemporary print culture; and Marginal Editions’s unparalleled technical expertise.
